Press Release, December 7, 2009
CresaPartners is an international corporate real estate firm that exclusively represents commercial tenants. As the company pursues their mission to provide each client with service customized to their needs, consideration of green office environments has become more and more prevalent.
Joyce Smith, LEED AP and CresaPartners Advisor says “We can demonstrate how a modest investment of money and time, can result in long standing reduced operating expenses through green initiatives that will typically pay for themselves in three years or less. Energy-saving technologies, use of natural daylight, ventilation, and downsized equipment can translate into thousands of dollars in long- term savings.“
CresaPartners recognized early on that many businesses were looking to become more sustainable but felt deterred as they did not own their facility. “You don’t need to move into a newly constructed green building to go green but,” Smith adds, “a landlord’s cooperation is critical for an existing building to meet LEED requirements.” The firm learned this lesson from more than just market research. In their own pursuit to become more sustainable, CresaPartners worked with facility owners to incorporate green fixtures and appliances.
The most important thing Smith tells her clients is to seek out information on how to become more sustainable. That’s why CresaPartners was excited to hear about the Chamber’s Green Business Initiative. “This program will be a great source of information on green best practices and we were more than happy to be on board.”
